Some years I had a wee gadget - looked like a mug with a handle - then at the top (my memory) of the jug was crissy crossy lines and lid

you put the cream into the "tiny" jug and whipped it up and down until the cream thickened.

it is only a quick way for whipping cream emergency can anybody remember that wee gadget TA

no - it was a plastic cup like a child's mug - with the lid being tight on it and under the lid would have the crissy crossy business so that when the cream was being shaken - it turned think. If I could get it would save from opening big other gadgets.
I know what you're talking about JJ, but I can't think of the words to put in google. Bettaware catalogues, or the like, will probably sell them.
Was it something like this? Although this particular one isn't available.

Thanks all for replying - Murray yours looks very like it. I youtubed it there and that looks good.

In my oul head I thought maybe you put the cream closed it with the "whipper" thing in the lid - then you shook it yourself.

Well - called into Lidl today just noseying about and found and bought a mini-chopper - my own was a little broken around the lid and so I knew time was limited on it. When I got home found the mini-chopper also whips cream. So two birds for the price of one.
Please don't put birds in your gadget, Jenny.
