Were other viewers as disgusted as I was with sporrans made from roadkill?I thought it was in very bad taste showing how it was done with the animals.I have seen many sporrans but never any with animal heads on, how revolting!I'd be interested in other viewers reactions.

They look blooming awful to me, but as they're not being specifically killed to make into fashionable objects I don't have a problem with it. Fur farming is more offensive to my taste.

Well, I can see your point and I wouldn't give one house room but as the lady said if left they simply rotted by the road.

It preserves an old tradition without the cruelty.
I'm glad that someone is making a living out of something that would otherwise go to waste.
I've seen sporrans like the ones shown on Countryfile. It didn't bother me in the least - she makes them from roadkill and it's no different from taxidermy.
Good use of a dead animal, in my opinion, but then I do eat meat and fish and wear leather and pigskin
Something of a waste of edible meat to my way of thinking.
You can eat roadkill if you are confident it's safe Paulustris.
Sorry for spelling error
We often do, easy enough to tell. If the pheasant is uncrushed then it is safe to eat. Last one we had was still warm,it had broken its neck trying to beat up a car.
Rabbits are a bit different, most of the road kill here is down to Myxy, so definitely not edible.
the cats enjoyed the hare. they do not seem to mind the broken bits of bone.
I didn't see it, but I think it sounds quite gruesome leaving the head on !

I don't have a problem with it. They weren't killed on purpose to make the sporrans. My grandma wore proudly (1950s) a fox-fur. I was fascinated by the little feet and heads sprouting all over it. One of my playmates was horrified and cried when she waved it at him!

Jourdain2 - my mum had a black fur collar that looked a bit foxy but other people wore what looked like a real animal,,I was a bit little to tell if they were real or not, but I know I thought they were creepy! I agree roadkill can be quite edibble, though I wouldn't eat rabbit. But the thought of my husband with a dead animal over the family jewels would give me the heebies! Thanks for all the feedback peeps!
