Mrs Z and I have started doing a lot more cooking as part of our healthy living regime. We have a very eclectic set of pans and so I wondered whether there were any recommendations on here (you know, using AnswerBANK as it was intended) and came across this:

Well, in my defence, it was 6 years ago.

I meant to put ‘user’ but maybe......
We put in an induction hob last year and I had to buy new pans. Dunelm have a good range and I'm very happy with mine except for one thing - they have a pouring lip so you can drain whilst keeping the lid on. This is mainly very useful except when cooking dumplings because I now have to seal the pan with kitchen foil.

Ta jourdain.
I love dumplings.
Mince n dumplings, stew and dumplings.
When it comes to the stew, pop in one of them oven-proof thingies - casserole dish add dumplings and let the oven work its magic
I've got the new Tefal frying pans with clip on handles. I thought I'd try the frying pans first before I bought the set. Very impressed.
Question Author
Saw those ummmm. Thought we’d lose the handles tho!
Hmmmmmm.......... ;-)
Ha. That's nothing. Yesterday I asked Mr BM to text me a phone number I needed. I'm not sure what's worse. The fact that he sent me his own number or the fact that I dialed it.
You can get spare handles.
These are the pans we have and they are brilliant....in fact 'Procook' is a brilliant site.

Thanks, Zacs......I forgive you..... ;-)

Thanks all.
Z-M I've checked and mine are actually stamped Dunelm.

As a follow-on, when you are the proud possessors of a gleaming set of promises of culinary appeal (i.e. new pans)can I appeal to you to clean and give your old ones to a homeless charity, please? I don't know one in your area but I scoured mine and handed them over to The Hinge at Bridlington, who gave them to a middle-aged couple who had become homeless through no fault of their own. The Hinge had found them a flat and our pans helped to give them a start. Thanks. :)

Went for some procook ones. They’re a sort of dark grey.

Jourdain, I’ll certainly have a look around at local charities who might want our old ones.
Talking of senility, I completely forgot to pay off my credit card bill last month. I have never not paid it off in full. Now I have a default sum on my current bill. I am really cross with myself!

It was written in my diary as well and I missed it. Grrr!

Tilly - I have a belt-and-braces approach. It is in my diary - then it goes on the calendar - and every week the whiteboard in the kitchen gets updated. If it goes wrong you can hear the screams at Landsend!
Question Author
Is that what it was. I thought the air raid siren had gone off in Pocklington.
