Isn't It Odd....

....when you are in a fantastic restaurant having just about the best meal ever and......
The young couple to your right aren't bothering with each other.....he is on his mobile phone for the whole meal and she is..well just eating quietly...
The couple on your left are elderlyish......as they sit down her phone rings and for the next fifteen minutes they face time with a granddaughter...quite noisily...ignoring the arrival of their starters and the waiter.....
Eventually they stop and eat their meal in silence....the whole meal????
Not a word they said to each other....
What happened to enjoying a meal together......asking to congratulate the chef....it was one of those meals where you had to do that....and discovering he's a twenty three year old lad who devises his own recipes....and they were just wonderful....x

gness, I haven't a clue what you're talking about but I'm going to bed now and in parting I'll just say that I agree with Zacsmaster when he said earlier //They’re both probably saying ‘did you see that nosey old bat staring at us whilst we were trying to enjoy our meal’. //

You can enjoy your evening in a nice restaurant while still looking around and listening to what other people are doing or talking about or eating.

Let me think which of the contributors of this thread I'd prefer to have a meal with...
