Googling it throws up some very conflicting answers.
Specifically, I want to run a webcam Wirelessly, i.e. not down a USB cable.
Am I too early, or are there such devices or workrounds?

You might be trying to do the impossible. The USB cable that runs between a webcam and a computer doesn't just carry the video signal. Just as importantly, it provides power to the camera from the computer's USB socket. If you remove the cable (and replace it with a wifi or bluetooth connection) you'll still need to provide a power source for the camera. For...

For example, a home security camera such as this one can send a signal wirelessly but it still needs to have a 5V power supply connected to it:

Putting this question together with your other recent one suggests that you really need something like a GoPro camera

Yes, I am pushing my luck with the wireless USB - what works fine on keyboards and mice won't, I now understand, work the same way on cameras and the like. Maybe one day.
For now, I'll either look at the suggested alternatives, or just settle for a long USB lead.
