recommendations for pc games

My bf just got a laptop, our ps3 is out of action at the moment, and I waited to know about any games he might like.

He likes games like?
call of duty
red dead redemption
resident evil

he doesnt like
sims
football games

Any recommendations, we play games like call of duty online, but I don't know how online games on the pc would work and if they are good or not.

Plus are there any games two laptops can play at the same time like two people in the same room each on their laptops?

also with some of the cheaper games on amazon, we have a higher platform windows 7 than the platform advertised (up to vista//xp) does this mean they won't play or it that to warn people with a platform lower than those advertised

You need to be careful as a PS3 will play a PS3 game with no problems. A laptop however will not necessarily play all pc games. I suggest googgling the laptop make and model + [insert game name here]. You should find forum posts and suchlike where people would have confirmed if it does or doesnt work.
