I posted a couple of days ago that I have got to have a new central heating system fitted in my flat, and that the firm doing it are coming out to survey my property tomorrow.
Am I the only one that really doesn't like strangers coming into my property?
I have a real problem with people that I don't know coming into my flat. Don't know what it is, just cant handle strangers been in my living space.
hereIam, I've had builders at my home (inside and out) for almost three years on and off. I must admit when they were in full flow for several months in one hit it did become wearing.
No, can't stand having workmen in my house. The whole decor, kitchen and bathroom need doing but I can't face it.
We had our windows replaced last year and the boss guy insisted on playing his radio really loudly and singing like a cat stuck in a mangle. I turned his radio down hoping he'd get the hint but he carried on. Thankfully it was only for two days.
They've been out to do the initial survey this morning minters. Got have an asbestos check next week then all been well will get it fitted soon after that.
//Go and make yourself a cup of tea and just let them get on with it, Nailit. Don't follow them around. They'll be done before you know it//
Always make em a brew or 10 Naomi. Never follow them around, had that happen to me when ive been working in peoples homes, so annoying..
.and I make sure all cupboard doors are firmly shut...bathroom cabinet locked tight...as for my knicker drawer...welllll......
It's the sock drawer you need to watch!!!!!!!!
Once people have permission to be in our inner circle we have a complete open house policy and will often come home and find one or more of our friends watching TV or cooking something, having no idea that they would rock up previously. sometimes people stay for days on end and that's fine I actually like that kind of inclusive chaos, but I HATE people I'm unfamiliar with just turning up, including engineers, servicemen, canvassers etc, so kind of with you on that x
kvalidir, take my hat of to you for having that kind of home, sounds really cool. It would drive me crackers though. Even when I have friends around I'm often clock watching waiting to have my space back again.
I think it's because my Dad and Mum's house was always chaotic and we have a huge family, it was always virtually impossible to have silence or privacy, so it feels a bit weird when there is, don't like strangers I'm not expecting though, I can get very tetchy over them, and if people I don't like turn up and look like they're staying for longer than i'm happy with I get a very itchy trigger finger :)
Oh naomi I could not put up with three years, six days of fitters, a painter, electricians, plumbers and floorers AND two floods almost tipped me over the edge !
