If it is very cold then the blood will flow more to your stomatch to counter the large temp drop and then your skin will get hotter. I drink water by the pint straight from the tap. In cold weather I hardly dink any water - yesterday between 4 and 9 I drank about -4-5 pints of tap water (I am 6ft 3 and 16.5 st)
A teaspoonful of cider vinegar in a glass of water is the most thirst-quenching drink I know of. Something to do with balancing the electrolytes in the body. After a couple of mouthfuls, think about it, and you'll find you're no longer thirsty. Cleans the mouth beautifully as well. Must be cider vinegar.
