Can’t be bothered writing out the whole title, but just back from watching it.
Well, there’s two hours of my life I’ll never get back again.
Pretty awful, predictable, two dimensional characters, hackneyed dialogue.
And to top it all, a constant distraction was how the main character travelled to the island with a small suitcase, and yet managed to wear about seventeen different outfits, jackets, shoes, hats, etc. Oh, and the suitcase also held a full sized typewriter.
And to top it all, just read in IMDB, that most of it was filmed in Devon and Cornwall. So not even lots of picturesque shots of Guernsey.
I read the book some years ago and loved it. Wondered how they would translate it to film and thought they did a good job giving background. The last shot in the film when the manuscript was handed over was lovely - cause that manuscript is the book.
