Is it possible to post an item on friday and have it delivered by saturday? If so is it reliable? Also could you give me an estimate on the kind of charge it would be to deliver a laptop by this post?
Thanks

I never realised that the post office now does a guaranteed next day Saturday delivery.

The guarantee and service on that is usually brilliant! But it's a bit pricy!
...pricey even! :(
The postman did.....

Three things, it depends where you are, where it's going, and what time you post it. Send it special delivery, which will guarantee delivery (assuming you have been told it's OK - they only accept if they know it can be delivered, which is where the area and time come in) and it will compensate in case of loss or damage. Dunno how much tho.
This service has very recently been introduced by Royal Mail, for an extra fee on top of the normal special delivery. Previously it was guaranteed for Monday but stood a chance of being delivered on the Saturday, particularly to a house as opposed to a business.

There are some surprising exceptions - eg you can't send it to a travel agent or a bank (because their deliveries are not handled by the postman).
