Thunderstorm & Lightning Last Night

Well, that was a very freaky but impressive lightning display last night. Never seen lightning like that before over London / South East.

However Stansted Airport (which is only 40 miles from here as the planes fly) had a lightning strike last night that hit a fuel depot. It's causing total chaos there.
A friend of a friend was due to arrive there this morning, with a really tight connection time to get a train into London. However here flight was diverted to Birmingham, so she's now got to get to London by train but there are rail replacement buses between Birmingham International and Coventry, so it will take here ages to get there. Once she's got there, she's then got to work out how to catch up with the coach tour that she should have joined hours earlier!

SW London - absolutely mega storm. It was supposed to hit at 9 pm when we were sitting out at a music festival but stayed away until just afterwards. I think it might have closed the airport for a while. The lightning was amazing. I passed a charity cycle ride on the way home - they must have been like drowned rats
