Travelling from London to Cheshire tomorrow evening - should I take the M6 or the M6 Toll? I'm guessing both will be quiet by the evening.

Depends what time.
Should be OK (ish) after about 7
Toll road is usually quiet (at least that's what the advertising boards say!) but costs 7 (I think) for a car.
I usually use M6, and generally don't have any problems - just don't go anywhere near it at rush hour.
Have had recent rotten experience - pay the toll, on the way back sat nav said no I went on the crappest time and petrol consuming convoluted route, due to travel improvements!
Pay ,pay, pay!
Just put an append that Answebank lost, Bloody thing.

Anyway, take the toll.

No queues, no lorries, you miss the M5 link, and a pleasure to drive compared with the M6.

It's 3.50 for a car. I always use it
