What are your thoughts.
If the govenment taxed it we could make more money as a country to help our selves out.
Its proven that to overdose on it you have to smoke over 200 joints in 15mins which is impossible!
It would make crime drop.
Alcohol causes more problems and also causes more harm to the body. Where as Marijuana has no physical effects long term, only thing that might come about is being paranoid and thats if you smoke it constantly.

California is coming round to the idea of making it legal by a federal law as at the moment its a people law. its also passed in quite a few other states.

Would you vote to make it legal if it came to a vote and if not, why?

You've halfway hit on another part of the problem with legalising it, Graham (are you just another "inexperienced optimism of youth person BTW? ;) )

If it was legalised then it would be taxed, but if it was taxed to such a level it was more expensive than the current supply chain then nobody would buy it from a shop, they'd just go to their existing dealer.... it wouldn't even be possible to start at a low tax rate and then slowly increase it because as soon as the price got higher people would go back to "dealers" again, it's not like they are going away, they have other drugs to sell too.
It sounds like some people think that dope smokers get wasted every night.

I used to have a couple of joints on a Friday evening. That was my lot. I don't smoke it at all now.

ah i see! then yes i agree with the whole of that statement. i think if your at work you shouldnt really get high and go cause you are unable to do your job. same kind of thing as you dont go to work drunk.
Legalise it so the Gov can cream tax and hopefully ease tax burden on regular cigs.

@tamborine but lowering tax on cigs, will make more people buy them, which would make a death rate higher for tabacco
Legalise it and I'll grow my own. No need to pay tax on it at all. I'll also decide what strength I want is by selecting a certain strain to give the mellow without going too high.
Yes Chuck. I've always tried to be an optimist and admit my inexperience on a lot of things. At 63 it's hard to have the optimism of youth, but one does try ;-))
Hey man, who cares, chill.
<<<< Never did me any harm......

Never done me no harm! never touch it now though, I rarely touch alcohol and never smoke now.

The only problem I had with weed was the munchies, especially as I lived just a few meters from a kebab shop. Nightmare!!
Lol, just realised this is an old thread been dragged up by someone advertising lol!
