Monday. A clear sky again this morning. It's going to be another hot one. Long may it last!

Away early this morning, got to see my gorgeous GP at 0840. That's all that's on the oracle for today. I could get used to this!

Have a happy day everyone.

Morning all, this is as early as I can manage these days, bright sunny day though xx
morning Kva xx lengthy transatlantic skyping has that effect ! lol
Morning all. Nice day here in Manchester too, although it lashed it down yesterday. If you were watching the Charity Football Match, you would have seen the rain!
morning Clarion xx didnae watch it..who won ?
Lol We put the same movie on and watch it together and Skype til he falls asleep, he has trouble sleeping, and it was very late last night for me cos he's 5 hours behind me :) x
England beat the World XI on penalties after 3-3 at full time. The evening raised over £5M for Unicef, who are already one of the wealthiest charities in the world don't cha know!
awww Kva.. I have trouble sleeping ..can I watch too ? lol...

I blocked UNICEF from my phone and will NEVER donate to them again after being subjected to a barrage of texts and calls in the early hours asking for money... who wants to talk at 3am ...GGRRR
Minty, I never donate to any charity. People might think that's a bit callous, but I'm not convinced they use all the money for the purposes they advertise. I know there are running and operating costs, but I get the feeling that some people in these charities are just creaming it.
I have a selected few..they are small and local...not the national/international money machines that "invest" money rather than spend it on a cause...
What is the wealthiest charity in this country (UK)?
The RNLI. About 10 years ago they were threatened with losing their charity status by the govt because they were taking more in donations than they were spending on their cause. That was also the case for one or two other well known charities. Whenever the RNLI carry out a rescue, people always ask why they don't charge for their services, but if they did charge, they would lose their status as a charity. Having said that, they are very brave and helpful people and deserve all the recognition.
I'm very twitchy about which charities I support and generally it's none of the big ones.
CEOs of charities generally ride round in Rolls Royces and eat in top restaurants, bless them.
would anyone like to donate to a new, very small, charity.. "Mintyaid" ? all donations will go to worthy issues.... need a few weeks in the Maldives.... marleyblocking to drive would be nice... perhaps a kitchen extension ?
