Phones and MP3s fuel robbery rise

MP3 players are increasingly a target for robbers
A rise in young people carrying mobile phones and MP3 players is being blamed for street robberies and muggings jumping by 8% last year
Wow and here's me thinking that the Muggers were to blame.

What a sad world we are living in,you are not allowed to use your mp3,mobile or i-pod incase some thieving toe-rag decides to nick it,oh for the days when a copper could smack ya round the lug-hole and the kids couldnt shout victim!!!!!

I was mugged for my mobile phone (they got my wallet while they were at it) and the police reaction was scandalous. I had been hit twice hard, floored on one occasion and yet as I had been on the phone at the time it had been snatched from me, I was made to feel like I had done something wrong. I'm aware that in the centre of London they do have more serious issues to deal with but the treatment I received tarnished my already low opinion of the police. Shocking.

I may be over reacting but I think we are heading for anarchy on the streets, where criminals can get away with anything because they know they are very unlikely to be caught.

Only yesterday we had a man shot dead in his car in front of his 2 children. It seems he was a drug dealer so that is OK then.

The 2 cars involved in the getaway were found later burnt out. What sort of place are we now living in.

I used to really love living in this country but I am getting more and more depressed at the home grown scum we have around, and the imported scum that seems to be able to get here some how and stay as long as they like.

As John Reid said yesterday, the government have let us down as one of of their main jobs is to provide a safe environment for its people.

All we get is wasters like Blair and Prescott going all over the world seeing how many rich people they can skive off while the long suffering public put up with what they have created.

(and in his speech yesterday Reid had the nerve to say there had been a large reduction in crime - ha ha)
