Parents at a school are using electronic equipment to challenge the teacher's declared results in Sports Day events. All I can say is poor *** kids having such people as their parents - it's SPORT for goodness sake. Let them enjoy their childhood before the rat race takes over their lives.

It seems that with every day that passes the world is topped up with ever more desperate, entitled pots of toss.

I'm sorry - if Persephone, Gulliver and Ariadne have finished anywhere other than first then there is an inherent fault in the system - it is the teachers who should be punished.
Yes, they are OTT. But perhaps holding the Sports Day in a National arena gives parents the sense that it's much more important than it really is.
maybe its what they have locally Cloverjo?
There are winners and losers in life and nobody remembers who came second. Yes.....it IS a sport but competitive at the same time.

OTT ? yes....possibly.
Yes...OTT...but you only had to watch the parents race to see how competitive some people are. My kids primary school withdrew the parents race in the end.
Yes over the top over a sport's day but if someone's kid finished first and the teacher can't get that right makes you wonder what sort of school it is anyway. Personally I wouldn't challenge something like that or bother taking video evidence, I think it's desperate and needy and not helpful to the child, but how hard is it to get which child crossed the line first? Perhaps there is more to it than we realise with teacher's pets being unfairly awarded places and black sheep not. Hard to say the full extent of what's going on here but absolute storm in a teacup either way.
Yes, I do think they're over the top.
Kvali....LOL....everything seems to be a "storm in a teacup" to you.....it is ONE of your favourite soundbites.

However...I agree.
I thought photographic items were banned from school events.
says more about the parents than their children...
Cameras are not banned at our local school. Parents are simply asked not to publish pictures online.
That's because so many things are sqady, drives me nuts the insignificant twaddle people worry about and the micro-upset over everything. I'm full of sympathy over big heavyweight issues, but seriously these people need to get a grip. I'll have to stop using that expression though :)
Kids soccer is the same, heaven forbid little Rupert is fouled, and of course when the little *** that did it gets a telling off its only a game and they are only kids. If kids want to play a sport then they need to learn sports have rules. Simplify them for the youngest but rules all the same. And parents should be red carded and sent to a bench the other side of the park
Maybe ban parents who can not accept the judge's verdict.

Anyway, being humiliated at school sports day isn't fun. It's obviously run for the benefit of teachers so they feel important, and compulsory attendance from parents to give encouragement and feign happiness whilst developing disappointment in their kids.
I think most parents don't feel disappointment if their kids don't win.

I was a very sporty kid and my parents never showed any disappointment if I didn't come first. They'd congratulate if I did win but never any disappointment.

My kids primary school changed the format so the races were done in relays. You couldn't keep up with who the winners were.
