Taking Asbestos samples to Ireland

I have just been asked to take some asbestos samples to Ireland for a training course. They're all sealed in petri dishes. Can I take them, or is there any licences that i need ?

Asbestos is a dangerous substance and a possible carcinogen. You will be either flying or taking the ferry to ireland. in both cases the carriers will require that you have to declare any hazardous material that you are carrying. It is a catch 22 situation. if you declare it they will defeinetly not allow you to travel. If you dont declare it you are committing an offence but the likelhood of detection is very very small. Your employer has to sort this out not you.
