National Service In France Do We Need It Here?

I am very much in favour of national service in Britain what do other abs think ?

Hazi - the vast majority ARE extremely hard-working, self-disciplined and unfailingly courteous (I say this as an ex-secondary teacher).

I'm not sure how much weight that one carries. An 'ex'? How long ago since we are talking recent issues and direction?

Plus perhaps you were at a decent school, there are many of them but at the same time there are schools in problem areas where the kids wont behave.

It is going back a bit and one of the schools was not in a good area. I also have children and they and their friends are nice and hard working. Yes, there are 'bad' kids about but the good ones never seem to get singled out for praise - it's all just lump them all together.

I think it should happen.
It will be a marvellous opportunity for them, especially seeing as they can then join web-forums (if such things still exist) 70 years hence and regale their fellow contributors with tales of their military-life....

Or, quite possibly, it shouldn't happen because it is a stupid idea and won't solve any of the problems its' champions believe it would.

I think this is a great idea. But England won't implement anything like this.
This would buck up our unruly youths.
