The fire is nowhere near where the murdered were buried. It is more over Mossley and Stalybridge and is not easily accessible by road.
People seem to assume that the fires were started deliberately, but I was over Indian’s Head last month, and it was obviously very very dry and a fire was highly likely.
PP,
Not sure it is peat burning. The area is very high, and rocky. So doesn’t really get much vegetation other than grasses and heather. In such dry conditions, the grasses becomes strawy, and catch fire easily.
