Homeless

I live in a high rise.
A few days ago I had a plastic policeman (a PCSO) knock on my door and ask me if Ive had any problems with homeless people sleeping on the stairwells of my flats. I told him ...honestly... that Ive had no problems with homeless people sleeping on the stairwells.
There have been people occasionally sleeping on the stairwells, particularly in winter, but they have never bothered me. This jerk then went on to ask me to report anyone who was sleeping rough (and trying to take cover from the elements) to the authorities.
Why would I report anyone trying to stay safe/clean/secure/ etc?
Sometimes I just really HATE uniforms and what they represent.

Just when a few homeless folk are trying to survive?? Seriously?
I despair at the lengths people will go to.

I have found keeping to society's rules means I have never had problems with those that enforce them. I should think that is the same for most people. However I know a few who have and been and currently are in the police and in any group of people there are some who are decent, and others who can be a little less than we would expect of them.
If you move in the circles where you come into their area of responsibility you should expect to see the side that does their job.
