Usually it's OH who does the cockups but not tonight.
Earlier he passed the dish cloth to me and said it needs boiling. He got a clean one from under the sink.
I have never boiled a dishcloth in my life!
But, I boiled the kettle, filled my largest saucepan, put dishcloth in with some soap powder and put it on the hob.
Later OH asked has next door got a bonfire because I can see smoke passing through. I looked outside and answered no.
Later went in kitchen and discovered source of smoke. Pan had boiled dry and the dishcloth had burnt to a cinder. To add insult to injury that was the clean one. Dirty one still on sink unit.
Soaking saucepan but not sure it can be saved.
He is so smug, with his it wasn't me attitude. GRRRRRR?

You got me there!

Having had similar, I'm with him.
For future reference, wet washcloth. Place in microwave cook on full power for three minutes you can then just give it a quick soak in hot water and bleach to whiten it and kill anything that survived the microwave.
EEK ! I do the microwave thing if I think things are minging .. do you have a tin of fruit pie filling ? if so pour into pan and leave for 24 hours...will be sparkling
or coke..not diet..fill pan and gently simmer
Or biological washing powder hot water and leave to soak overnight. As a last resort cook rhubarb in it
love rhubarb !! crumble and ice cream.. or custard...
i would have assumed that doris was cooking my dinner

Take it down stream, grab a big mitt full of coarse sand and scrub, along with an occasional rinse.
If any more is required move upstream, using finer sand repeat the process.
etc.
lol oz..walkabout protocol !

Some brilliant ideas there, thanks everyone.
Baking soda should clean the pan. Soak inside first with a liberal amt of baking soda and water and then boil for about 5 to 10 mins. But, set a timer so that the same problem doesn't happen again!
Murraymints- how on earth did you find out that fruit pie filling cleans saucepans? Makes you wonder what it does to our stomachs!!!!
Same applies to Coke hellywelly! I only use that to clean the toilet.
