Can’t believe she’s even presenting the Hampton Court Flower Show on BBC2 now! Worse news is this: https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/jo-wiley-plans-stay-put-12846871. Is there anyone out there who likes her, and if so please explain her appeal?

The BBC like her, and often, that is enough, regardless of what the viewing / listening public think.

Remember Patrick Kielty? They tried for ages to force him on the public, until even they had to admit defeat, but it wasn't for want of trying.

They develop tunnel vision over some people and their imagined popularity - Terry Wogan morphed into a pantomime version of himself, and still they kept wheeling him out.

So sadly, until Ms. Whiley's friends-in-high-places move on, and she is dropped - possible, or they take notice of the public's increasing hostility, especially on Radio 2 - impossible, we are stuck with her.
I think Jo Bloomin Whiley sounds ideal to present a programme about a flower show :)
She'll be around for a whiley yet.
Yes, Jo’s career is certainly blossoming.
The trouble is the BBC employ people (often on ridiculous salaries) and then try to find something for them to do. Other TV companies devise things to do and then find the necessary people.
I would love to know Simon Mayo's view.
I was hoping, NJ, that you'd ask "... what exactly is an...er,er,er... Jo Whiley?", allowing some of us to answer "It's the one with the real hair, M'Lud".
Maybe she was second choice but Clare Balding wasn't available because of Wimbledon
Well, v_e, I can satisfy your curiosity. I've absolutely no idea who Ms Wiley (or is it Whiley?) is.
Nor me, NJ.

Me too, but I think we can take an educated guess!!!

To be fair, I think he probably likes and respects her as a person and as a presenter, but it does appear that both of them have been foisted on the other, and neither are happy about it.
