salt stains on shoes
3 Answers
Recently my partner waded into the sea with his shoes on to rescue a friend who couldn't stand up, (medical condition, not drunk). We have dried the shoes out thoroughly but there are obvious salt stains on the shoes. The shoes are Hush Puppies, darkish brown, possibly suede, and have a rubber sole. What is the best way to remedy this. I would be very appreciative for any suitable suggestions. Thank you in anticipation for any help.

Simply wipe off with a damp cloth taking care not to wet the leather to any noticeable extent. Dry thoroughly and repeat as necessary. The vinegar trick may well work perfectly also.
