Even sex now is being labelled as a mental disorder and i now suppose that there will be a sex addictive "spectrum."
Who would want to be cured of this "mental disorder?".......perverts or rapists I suppose.

Lol...he's not sex obsessed. I don't actually know how often he watches porn...it's not a lot though, he spends most of his time with me and the kids. I understand this is a concept you find hard to understand.

Who is to say that it is a "happy relationship and on what criteria?"
I am sure that many "happily married" men seek extramarital sex, but is it normal, then you need to define normal, which I have done.

Is " not normal" morally acceptable, or indeed acceptable under any circumstances and i suggest that it may well be.
What is normal behaviour to one person may well be abnormal to someone else.

This thread is about should sex addiction be described as a mental disorder and should it be available on the NHS.

Thanks Buenchico....but these that you describe in the links ARE extreme cases and not the run of the mill people who just enjoy sex and plenty of it.
Now whether that could be described as "addiction" as maintained by the WHO, that is quite another matter, but on the evidence shown in you link then her life, was affected.
Now whether sex is a matter of addiction or dependency can be argued either way, but i think that it is a dependency as personally i regard addiction as drug initiated.
I suppose one can become "addicted" or "dependent " on anything and these can impact on family life e.g finances, but that is not my definition of ADDICTION.

I know for a fact, when Mr.Sam was in his late teens early 20s he visited "massage parlours" , albeit "a lá Japanoise". I also know for a fact he has never since I met him, yes I DO that know that for a fact. But boy did he learn a trick or two!
