Forget Harry Kane, Gareth Southgate, etc. the guys who should get the gongs and a champagne reception are Richard Stanton and John Volanthen.

And while we're at it, gongs for Aussies Richard Harris, and Craig Challen

Not to mention Chaiyananta Peeranarong and his team.

The fact that these names won't be nearly as well known as Kane etc., says it all.

.....and on one level, I agree with him. cave rescue - dive rescue - it's what these people do, voluntarily, whether in the UK or internationally, in full knowledge of the risks, which can be many and varied.

I would think that if any awards were forthcoming they would come from the Thai authorities.

no gongs, but at least recognition from the PM of a job well and truly done. They all did a remarkable job and i for one applaud them.
