Help In Unistalling Programmes.
13 Answers
I installed Adobe onto my laptop and other programmes have been added, I have tried to unistall them but it will not allow me to do it, i've right clicked onto the programme to unistall it and a message comes up 'please wait until the current programme is finished unistalling or being changed', i've waited but nothing happens, i've restarted the laptop, but nothing has changed. Any ideas and help much appreciated, thanks.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ."I installed Adobe onto my laptop" is meaningless because Adobe Systems is a software manufacturer (as Microsoft is). They make lots of different software (such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Pagemaker, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Director, etc). So we've not got a clue which software you're really referring to. [If it happens to be Adobe Acrobat Reader though, you should definitely get rid of it. Even though Adobe actually invented the PDF format, there are far better PDF viewing programs available, such as Sumatra PDF and Foxit Reader].
However it seems that the Windows Installer service (which is also used for uninstalling software) has got stuck in a loop somehow: Right-click on the task bar at the foot of your screen.
Select 'Start Task Manager'
Click on 'Maximise' (= the little square, at the top right-hand corner) to make the window full size.
Click on the 'Services' tab.
Click on the 'Description' column header (to put the list into numerical order).
If necessary, click-&-drag the right-hand edge of the 'Description' column header (to make the colum wide enough so that you read the entries).
Scroll down to 'Windows Installer'
It should be showing as 'Stopped' but your post suggests that it will show as 'Running'.
Assuming that it is, right-click on the entry and select 'Stop Service'.
That will hopefully fix the problem. (If not, please post again)

Buenchico, thanks for helping.
I have followed your instructions, but when I right click on Windows Installer, which is showing 'running', it says 'operation could not be completed, access denied'.
It was Adobe Flash that I installed yesterday, this has meant that when I now start up instead of showing my desktop it shows Yahoo Chromium.
In the control panel, I have tried to unistall anything that was added yesterday, when I installed Adobe Flash, but with no luck.
I really do appreciate your help, I'm not technically minded at all, thanks again.

Given that Buenchico last answered you at 1:55 this morning, I'm guessing he's still in bed. When you installed Adobe Flash it looks like you omitted to untick the box which invited you to install Yahoo Chromium and make it your default browser; it's Yahoo Chromium you need to uninstall. Alternatively, open your usual browser (Firefox, Opera, whatever) and use the settings to make it your default browser.
