Same as johnk, just decided to give up. Tea tasted a little strange at first then got used to it.Would actually feel sick now if given tea with sugar. Only cereal I eat is muesli unsweetened, don`t touch soft drinks, prefer water or milk. Only sugar I consume is naturally present. Just do it.
I gave up sugar AND carbs (also sugar) for 3 months as an experiment when my levels were approaching diabetic. I went cold turkey and literally lived on cold turkey. And green veg. It was horrible. My hair fell out. I could see my scalp. I know the science says that low carb/keto is good for us, but I hated the food and felt like my body hated me. After the hair episode I went back to carbs but was just a lot more aware of what I was eating, as by then I knew all the carb content of everything. I still don't eat pasta or bread, rarely rice, and only sweets/choc when I have a really bad craving. It was an interesting experiment but as someone who doesn't really like meat or vegetables that much, plus I am not a great cook, it wasn't for me. That said, I need to have another blood test, and if it has got high again, I will have to re-think.
I gave up sugar in tea or coffee when it went up to 1 shilling a bag. Work that out!

Lurcher1000, are you referring to the Alpen with “no added sugar”? Thing is that doesn’t mean it has no sugar; just that there’s no more added, which is confusing. Finding foods with no sugar in is difficult

//Tried giving it up in coffee for almost a year before I realised I was being daft. Coffee doesn't taste great unsweetened. Use Splenda now.//

Reminds me of those westerns , where the cowboys , -or whoever- out on the trail , brew up a pot of coffee and drink it black without sugar .

If you are trying to eliminate all sugar, ditch carbs. Not all though. Stick to leafy green and above ground vegetables. Berries have the lowest sugar content of all fruits. Bananas, and most tropical fruits are the highest. When you shop, read labels. Sugar will be added to the most unlikely foods...including cheese. Cheese and most full fat dairy is low.
I gave up sugar when I went low carb about 8 years ago. Unlike Scarlett I found it easy. Yes, there is period of adaption...headache, tiredness being most common. Obviously not for everyone.
I still eat very dark chocolate though. ;-)
When I went low carb, I was a tea with sugar addict. I immediately switched to coffee with cream. Never drink tea anymore.

Just give up the obvious things at the moment. That's a good start, then see how you get on. I'm doing this and have lost about 5lbs in last few weeks.
I gave up sugar in its pure form for a very long time!I just stopped eating it (in pure form).
