I too did the rounds of all the beauty counters looking for something to cure my oily skin. Finally, the lady on the Clarins counter did a skin type analysis (lasting about 1530 minutes -lots of questions about skincare routine, how long it took to get oily, how oily it got, the way it reacted to sun & wind etc). She said I had normal skin that was irritated by my current routine. There was no hard sell - she gave me some samples products, but also gave me advice on how to change my routine whatever products I ended up using. I stopped using products for oily skin and changed to those for normal or sensitive skin and ditched face scrubs, facemasks and exfoliators and noticed the difference almost straight away. I know this won't work in every case, but for the sake of £2.60 - supermarket own brand cleanser, moisturiser and a flannel, it's worth a try.
