Annoyed, But Not A Lot . . . .

Went for a prebooked MRI Scan this afternoon, got there on time, was actually called in early,
then they refused to do the scan because they could not confirm what type of replacement Aortic Valve I was given in '09. Apparently one type is not MRI compatable.
I know I do not have that type but my word was not good enough. They even rang St Thomas's but being Saturday could not get the info.
'elf and safety innit guv.
The scan was to be done on my knees, now rebooked for 10 days time and I've got to provide written proof.

And this is why we need a global medical record that computerised. When my husband was ill, he had multiple problems. I kept in his hospital admission bag a paper record of what was wrong with him, what had been done about it, where, when and who by, plus his most recent blood results and anything else that seemed relevant. I also made sure that I had a copy safe at home and one on my handbag that went into hospital with me when I visited. I should not have had to do the NHS's job for them.
a hospital recently wanted to run some test on me, I forget what for the moment, and I pointed out they'd alrready done it in 2002. They had no record of it at all (they even searched the basement where they keep the stuff written in reed pens on papyrus.)
No good complaining; if they haven't got it, they haven't got it, and I'd just as soon they didn't guess.
I keep all medical records I get, but that's hardly anything, though hospitals are more thorough in giving you copies.
