A few months ago I read a book about a small boy in France who was murdered by a paedophile (in a wheatfield) who went on to hold a high-ranking post in the French Government. There was another boy who (under a psychiatrist in America) knew what had happened to the first boy. This sounds a bit far-fetched but it was really good. Does anyone know the book or the author, please?

Well I think it sounds interesting, unfortunaly I can't help you with the title of this book, but you might like Lovely Bones by Alice sbold which is of a similar thread, but from the little girl's perspective as she is looking down from heaven.
Sorry, should have been Alice Sebold.
I've read this and I just can't remember the name of it - I'll have a good think. And YES, it was very good.

Thank you Natalie, I have read The Lovely Bones and enjoyed it. When you start reading it you think "this is strange, how can she be dead?" but it is very interesting. Also, thanks, Hapus, if you do remember it, please let me know. My husband read it as well, and can remember the story but not the title or the author. It is really annoying me!
is it Past Imperfect by John Matthews?...a similar story to what you descibe...

Oh thank you, Jocasta, yes it is. I have been racking my brains trying to remember it. Many thanks.
OH Thanks!!! I have been going mad all weekend trying to remember this book - I thought I still had a copy, so pulled ALL my books out as well - the annoying thing was that I could see the cover of the book in my head, but the title and author would NOT show themselves!
