Emails That Won’T Delete

I have got 2 yahoo mail emails which will not delete no matter how I try. They appear to delete but I will get a message saying “Message cannot be moved”. I am on iOS 11 on both iPad mini and iPhone 6s.

Are they the adverts that appear as first emails on your list.?

No, one is a confirmation of an Amazon order and the other is similar from a different supplier. Both companies have sent similar emails which have deleted successfully.

Can you drag them to another folder?

No, tried that.....just shoots back to original place.

can you mark them as spam my spam self deletes after a bit

Rather than choosing the delete option could you highlight the email and press DEL on your keyboard.
Or can you foward the email to another email account. Or flag it as SPAM?

Tried all that without success. Have noticed that they have gone from laptop which is on Windows 10 but still stuck in both iOS devises. Grrrrrr.

I had that years ago - I would delete the email and it kept getting redelivered to me!

I think it was an email I hadn't opened - as I didn't need to as I knew the contents of the email.

I think it finally disappeared after I read it and deleted it!

Have you marked them as 'unread' or 'keep' or something like that?

Have a look through this Telboy. It hints at compatability issues with ios11 and Yahoo mails amongst others. Having had a quick read through I would try deleting the Y Mails from your Phone and Pad then install the Yahoo mail app from the apple store if you do not already have it.

Definitely not. The offending messages now state they have no content although they definitely did initially

Attempted all suggestions without success. Can I delete the Yahoo account and then re-install without losing all contacts and email folders and saved messages?

If you delete the account from the ipad etc. you are only deleting the reference to it - the mail etc. is still stored on the yahoo servers.
