Got two deliveries there but I was out - cards posted - one from Amazon and one from Royal Mail saying that:

One was put in the blue bin and I have to pick up the other one at depot. Yet when I tracked them online - it said they had been delivered to my neighbour and actually specifying neighbour's surname.

A bit of a mix up isn't it.

at least I've got the parcels - well one anyway.
Good job your blue bin was not due for collection.
"...as she insists America is far more dangerous than Britain." Oh so that's how to judge London crime rates is it? As long as we lag behind the US everything is fine.
Ooops, wrong thread.
It seems to be a real nightmare in this country receiving parcels - couriers frequently seem to ignore instructions, and often "sign" for stuff themselves.

I have a "Please return undeliverable to depot" notice on my door, but the only courier who respects this is Royal Mail (whose depot is just round the corner from my house fortunately).

With Amazon I now use their Amazon Locker facility, but for some items they do not provide this feature.

Good luck with the second parcel :-)
The delivery men do get up to some funny tricks. A few weeks back I was awaiting a parcel which the tracker told me would arrive by 8 pm. 8 pm came and went - no parcel. Checked the tracker again which said 'parcel handed to resident'. No. Started to panic as I was unsure of the procedure. I had not been out of the house all day. I live in a flat in sheltered accommodation which is controlled by a door entry system. A couple of hours later I had occasion to leave my flat, and there was the parcel propped up against my front door. I can only think that when the driver turned up someone else was leaving the building so kept the door open for him. Still, there was no courtesy of even a knock on my door. Having said that, I am well aware that these people are under a great deal of pressure to reach targets. I would not like their job; in some cases it almost amounts to slave labour.
