Can sum1 give me a recipe 4 a easy and basic stew, ie just beef and beg no flashy stuff

I've just tried to answer (twice) and have been blocked by the profanities filter - can't think what could have been offensive! Unfortunately, you've missed a good recipe!

The recipe I use is 400g mince with 2 pints of water 2 stock cubes, carrots, potatoes and onion. Leave to simmer on a low heat for 2 hours or so and VOILA.
Buy some chuck steak (big chunks of beef from the butchers is fairly cheap), Dunk it in a bowl of flour which has been seasoned with salt and pepper. Fry the meat in a large frying pan on high heat, throw in your veg (mushrooms, carrots, potatoes, celery stick, peas) stir until the veg begins to soften. add a dash of brown sauce, salt and pepper, touch of tomato puree or sauce and top up with a litre of boiling water. leave to simmer or put in the oven. Cook slowly and for as long as possible. This is dead quick and in case you are wondering the flour helps seal the meat and produce a rou (helps thicken the gravy) add gravy granuals if gravey too weak,
