I also havea problem with antbiotics which I tried to start yesterday.
The first time I tried the capsule stuck in my throat and after a struggle I
managed to cough it back up again. I tried again and it seemed to stick father
down and I drunk copious amounts of water but I could still feel it there, my throat
became sore and it has only gone after a nights sleep.
Can I cut the capsule up and spread on some bread, or stir it up in a glass of milk or water.
I have to take a couple of tablets daily. I find it much easier to take them with my morning yoghurt which coats/lubricates the tablets and makes them go down instantly.
I do not know how long you have been suffering with this difficulty in swallowing.
I also note that you have cardiac problems and a pacemaker inserted.
If your problem of swallowing has been long standing and occurs also when eating, then i suggest that you mention this to your GP for further investigation.
I take various medications and recently the night time dose was 12 tablets. I just chuck them in my mouth and take a 'huge' mouthful of water (or Pepsi Max) and swallow the water - the pills just slide down.
The more that you think about the pill sticking or coming back the more that it will get stuck or come back. It is mostly psychological.
