Is drinking too much orange juice bad? I have about 2/3 glasses of concentrated orange juice a day because I used to think it was good for you, but then heard it has a whole lot of sugar in it. Should i lay off drinking so much ? Or is it natural sugars in it, which aren't really bad ?

wow, i was a bit worried as until you go into your question it says 23 glasses a day!

All sugars are bad if you have too much, but this doesnt seem an exsessive amount, try and aim for unsweetened juice, or proper pure orange as opposed to concentrate as these are better for you.

JESUS!!! Yes I was shocked too to read 23 glasses. How strange it says that on the question board. But in answer to your question then there is just as much sugar in fruit juices as there are in fizzy pop drinks. Although you might benefit more from the vitamins in the fruit juices I would rather eat the fruits fresh and then drink some sugar free squash as by the time the fruit juice has been watered down, had E numbers added to it etc and the time it takes from actually being pressed to you buying it, I don't think there are that many vitamins or benefits to it to be honest with you

You need to think whether the sugar (natural product) is any better/worse for you than artificial sweeteners (chemically derived with dangerous side effects if you believe this http://www.starbuilders.org/health/asp2.html )

If it 2 or 3 glasses rather than 23 I don't see a problem anyway. Maybe dilute it to normal strength.

You laugh at 23 glasses a day.....One of my friends, when we were teenagers, used to drink two to three litres of pure OJ a day. He had done this for years, but the doctor advised him to cut down on this massive consumption. He also advised him to cut down slowly - the body was used to the massive Vitamin C doses it was getting, and if he had suddenly reduced his consumption to one or two glasses a day it could have resulted in Vit C deficiency or scurvy. Strange but true!

better than my ex-husband, he used to drink 4 litres of Coco-Cola a day, i am surprised he had teeth left, yuck!

I was also shocked to read 23 glasses! The only thing I've ever been made aware of, is that too many oranges can give one a headache - that's all.

Stop right now. Apart from the sugar, what about all of that citric acid? It m ust be ruining your stomach lining as well.

Sorry Wooo12, I guess I am not the only one to mis-read your post.
I love the stuff but sadly if I drink more than one glass at a time if get styes. Very frustrating but I have found that adding gin or vodka to the orange juice does help
