The PGA Championship takes place this week and, as usual, it looks a wide open affair with the fav Dustin Johnson in at 8/1. The usual suspects follow closely but this event has a habit of throwing up some big priced winners; Kaymer (2010) and Duffner (2015, both went off @ around 44/1, 2009 winner Yang was a massive 330/1 and last year's winner, Justin Thomas, was around the 50/1 mark. So, i've had a little study and come up with 3 players i hope will still see me still in the game come Sunday. Will probably look for one in treble figure odds before tee off on Thursday.
Brooks Koepka @ 20/1 - £2.50 e.w. = £12.50 for a place, £65 for the win
Francesco Molinari @ 30/1 - £2.50 e.w. = £17.50 for a place, £95 for the win
Bryson De Chambeau @ 75/1 - £2.50 e.w. = £40 for a place, £230 for the win.
Bets on with Bet 365 who are paying a 1/5 odds to 8th place

My long shot, Chambeau missed the cut, but a late surge by Molinari earned him a tied 6th place (£17.50) and, take a bow Brooks Koepka, who maintained his 2 stroke lead throughout the final days play. With £15 staked and £82.50 returned (yeah, i know, no fortune) , the study pays dividends. After my win bet on Molinari in the British, now this, i'm quite liking these tournaments :-)
Haha, Maydup. Kiss of death, maybe?:-) I was right about the headlines, by the way. Poor old Brooks Koepke becomes the first golfer to win the US Open and the PGA in the same season since a certain T Woods. Yet all the papers and the radio can lead with is Tiger's 2nd place. So, the next tournament will no doubt see Tiger in as firm fav, which very well be misleading.
