Its just a thought
A couple of night ago, I went to my friends house for tea. My friend is a retired Pastor. He (and his wife) are Christians of the born again variety, evangelical, biblical literalists. We ate tea, spent some time in his (rather large) garden and I played footie with his grand kids. Afterwards we all had a game of Yahtzee followed by a cup of tea and a chat about current politics, healthy eating regimes and told a few jokes. He then gave me a lift home.
Not once did he preach to me or shove the Bible (or You Tube vids) down my throat. It was simply a nice catching up on each others news and enjoying each others company. We do this on a monthly basis.
He knows that I am an atheist, I know that he is a Christian. No problem.
Very occasionally we *might* exchange thought re: religion (more often than not when *I* bring the subject up) and occasionally both he and his wife will let slip that they both pray for me. Ive got no problem with some one showing some kindness in the way that they see fit!

That is so different to some who only wish to impose their own views on you and denigrate yours.
I wish more Christians had their attitude.

Really? I've never come across that sort of preaching, seems a bit medieval these days. The couple of preachers I know socially are lovely genuine people and don't push any religious views onto anyone. I know a couple of JW's ladies who are nice and insist on praying for me, and we have some good discussions about The Book of Revelation , I think they may desperately be trying to save my soul but never push anything and never ever say I'm going to rot or burn in Hell if I don't turn to their God.

in the end people are people, and friends should not try to sway or coerce to there religious ideology, bit like a vegan trying to put me off meat..example my sisters religious sort of..but she would never dare to convince me of my soul in peril, its a personal thing and should be left just like that...

Yes, and any other religious ideology that offends me.
The point been that my friend doesn't offend me...

Actions speak louder than the words and that is what every belief system teaches. It's people who believe in the phrase, "do as I say and not as I do".
