. . . but don't blame me if it goes wrong!
Wear every day for a year...wash after every wear in hot water...voila! Worn and faded.
Bung a bit of bleach in the washing machine and attack fabric with a razor blade.
Boil wash with lots of white towels.....jeans faded and towels dyed at the same time!
My brother used to take his outside and scrub them with an old fashioned hard scrubbing brush, water and powdered Ajax (if you can still buy that?)
Faded denim is very passé. Wear them as they are, unless you are eighteen.
Why not return them and get the colour you want?
Hang them on the line then walk to the other end of the garden (works best if you have a big garden)
He wants them distressed not just a bit lonely.
Lol@ Talbot!
Fill the legs of the jeans with cans of baked beans and tie the ends. Tie the jeans to your exhaust pipe and then take a drive to France for the day on a booze run.

Should do the trick.
Play this '80s classic at them on a loop until you get the effect you're after.

Let the Cheshire cat wear them.
"Wear every day for a year...wash after every wear in hot water...voila! Worn and faded."

And them chuck them in the bin. Why on Earth would you want to ruin your clothes?
back in the day, if you were lazy and did not just wear them, you could
fill a large bucket with 50/50 bleach and water dump jeans in and wait
hour or less, bath tubs better as you could lay them out properly, and you would get that effect, but kinda waste though, as longevity of jean was lost, but its up to you, i still have my 1970's jean jacket that i did not ruin, looks great still, obviously faded, wear them is my advice.
Lol at Talbot and LadyCG ...
