Expert professional advice wanted, please. My W reg Mondeo has done exactly 50000 miles with regular services. I have also changed the oil and filter at 4 monthly intervals. I am driving to Holland soon. Should I change the cambelt and pulleys etc ? Ford recommends 10 years or 100000 miles. I understand the ' better be safe than sorry' bit but I don't want to spend 200+ unnecessarily.
at the end of the day its up to you, you should be ok but if it puts ur mind to rest. are u planning to keep the car for a while ie till its dies??then it mite not be a bad idea to get it done maybe after u get bk?!! just make sure all the obvious things are ok ie bulbs and spares, spare tyre pressures as well as they others and depths ( min 1.6mm across the central 3/4 of the tyre) and so on goodluck
Difficult to give you advice on this one - as the bhoy says, 'It's up to you'. You obviously look after your vehicle well. If you renew the belt and tensioner pulley you can relax for another five years. I wouldn't follow the Ford recommended interval and would probably change it around 70000.
