Have to agree with the Merchant Banker bit. OK.
"I would say that someone working in commodities for Crédit Lyonnais works in banking."

I imagine Crédit Lyonnais employs people to clean out their toilets. Are they "in banking" as well?

Anyway, as I said earlier, let's not quibble.
But Farage was not cleaning out Toilets N/J, was he.
Yes, let's quibble, NJ, otherwise your post just looks like you are trying to have the last word. I'd say the cleaner works for a bank and the trader works in banking. The difference being the latter works for the core businesses of the bank.
Why be so defensive about it?
No one is suggesting he caused the crash in 2008 tho I agree it doesn’t sound good for the Farage myth :-)
Ps, NJ what a juvenile reply from you @ 11.42
How about this for a compromise, then: "Mr Farage was a metal trader who worked for a bank"?
Go Nige
YES !!!!

NJ; We're all working for the banks, they sure as hell aren't working for me.
Nothing wrong with that statement, NJ, just as there is nothing wrong with saying a bank's traders work in banking.
