whats the weather like?
we're going 15-29 Sept - do i need my cardi and waterproofs?

overcoats,wellington boots,bobble hats,the lot.

Rather unpredictable. Friends go there most years around that time and somedays it's rainy,but usually clears up. You'll just have to chance to luck. May need a cardigan in evening. The Island is more or less gatting ready to shut down at that time of year.Perhaps someone on this site will be able to offer better or more reasuring comment.

Been there that time before and had good weather all the time. Loads of good beaches to try - Personally I'd give Koukounaries a miss - it is pretty but too busy. Go over the other side of the island - Xerses Beach - virtually deserted, golden soft sands but 30 mins through pine forest to get to it so most don't bother and the round island boats seem not to stop there - paradise!

autumn and you sometimes get the effect where all the accumulated hot air of summer lifts off the Med and sucks in storms. The later you are the likelier you are to encounter it, but you could miss it altogether with your dates. A brolly may be useful just in case but you may not actually need waterproofs - it should still be warm enough to walk through the rain in swimming costume. Cardi maybe for the chillier evenings.
