This had evaded my attention :

I'm all in favour of energy saving - and have a lot of LED lamps around the house - but I've also got several ceiling fittings each with four or five G9 halogen bulbs - crucially, they are all also on dimmer switches.
LED G9s are pretty expensive (albeit getting cheaper), but it's impossible to buy ones that work with most existing dimmer switches - you need to replace the dimmer switch - that's going to cost around £15 (minimum). Add in the cost of the bulbs and I doubt I'll live long enough to see any saving.
I've just ordered 30 halogen G9s from Amazon - and if they are OK, then I'll order another pack whilst I still can - that should keep me going for a few years until the technology catches up with the (worthy) green agenda.
