There is a special condition as this is a themed crossword. 36 answers of which this is one have a word in the clue that follows the theme and the intial letter of that word is used in the wordplay.
Rosa Kleb is that theme and therefore the R for Rosa is added to ocean and mere to give the anamgram Come Nearer

Yep - I always enjoy the themed crosswords more. They start off more difficult until you get the theme, but then they become easier.

I cheated a bit and printed off a list of Guardian crossword compilers as soon as I got the gist of it.
