cutting grass too short.

having used new mower for 1st time we cut our grass too short and no looks decided unhealthy with loads of weeds taken over.does anyone know the best way to remedy this.

If you're not in a hosepipe ban area, I would water it regularly until it's a decent length again, and raise the cutter height on the blades.
I don't think putting any weedkiller on it in this weather is desirable as until the grass is growing regularly again you will find yourself looking at a very ugly patch of dead lawn. If you can't face hand weeding in the meantime, I suspect you'll just have to be patient until the grass grows back.

I've just read Wendy's post and totally agree with what she says, the hot dry weather has taken its toll on a lot of lawns lately, even the golf on tv at the moment says it all, Tiger Woods looked like he was walking accross a desert rather than a golf coarse!
