Going to our favourite haunt as usual this year but will have others with us this year.Need lots to do, bearing in mind I think we have done most of it over the years,and thought about some country shows ? I think the Danby show is on the Wednesday 16th August ? Any other sismiler events in or around the area that week ? We go 12th August til the 19th..CHEERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Crossed wires ! We don't live in Whitby (if only ),we are from Derby,but we spend every summer holiday there and also a week at Christmas(would highly recommend this !!).We also spend lots of weekends and day trips there.Know the area really well and love it so much we keep going back-even got married there !!
We WILL be moving up there as soon as our son leaves school if not before,only a few years to go.

19th - 25th August Whitby Folk Week
I love it too. We spend several weeks a year in Robin Hoods Bay. Going again on 18th August for a fortnight. I can't wait.

All over but my Nanna and Grandad lived all their lives in Chaddesden and my Mum grew up there. My Uncle and cousing all live there still, i think its Mackworth, but not 100% sure as i dont see them anyumore. Do you know a pub near the railway in the town called the Alexandra?
My Nana was the pianist in there many years ago and i used to spend quite a bit of time in there. A good old fashioned sing song pub!!!! so sorry, i have hijacked your thread reminiscing! Have a great time in Whitby!!!!!
i live in hartlepool and am only about an hour away went the other night after work had fish and chips and wander a round my fav place to sit is at the top of the steps oppisite the royal hotel, you can see all around, such a lovley place
julie, your lucky ducks question must have been some time ago, or I missed it. I've been a Whitby-o-phile for more years than I care to remember, and I know about them! One of my enduring memories of Whitby is from when I was a regularly working musician and I had to do a set-up in the BIg Bamboo at 7am for a gig that evening. It wasn't a pleasant experience............
