Just been catching up on Usain Bolt's latest attempt to become a professional footballer - at the grand old age of 32 - and i have to say that if he doesn't measure up at Central Coast Mariners, then he may as well give up. I began studying the A League about 5 years back for betting purposes and i have witnessed the steady decline of CCM - once one of the top clubs in the league - culminating in last season's 'wooden spoon'. They really were poor, winning just 4 of their 18 games and scoring only 28 goals.
I have nothing but admiration for Usain Bolt. His has been the most dominant name in world athletics for some time and he has enthralled millions with his explosive speed. I just hope his apparent desperation to become a footballer doesn't impact on his richly deserved reputation.
