What sort of baloney is this from the Government.....

Electricity and Gas prices to be held at a maximum as of today, for the vulnerable in society. However, it still can go up if the price of utilities raw products increase - I hate to be a pedant but that isn't a cap, Mr Clark or Mr. Nolan.......

One things for sure...if the 'vulnerable' enjoy a 'cap'....the rest of us will finance it!
that's fine, I don't mind financing help for the vulnerable.
^^^you may not but I bloody well do. I think that I already pay more than my fair share of tax. I pay in significantly more than I will ever ever use and I find it completely unjust that I am required to fund the lives of other people. I have just completed my tax return and it sickens me the amount I am paying. I'm all for having a social conscience and I accept I have to contribute, but I contribute too much already and yet people want me to contribute even more.
Dd...I'm sure jno would be happy to support your share.
I quite agree, dd. Tax revenue is already well lavished in the form of benefits. Someone will pay for this scheme and it won't be the energy companies.
// it won't be the energy companies. //

No it won’t.
With Privatisation the Government relinquished any control over the commercial interests of the new companies who took over our utilities. Basically they could charge whatever extortionate prices they wanted - and they did.
Talk of capping these companies ability to levy their own rates is an admissilon that ‘Privatision’ has completely failed.
