Temperament of a Lurcher
6 Answers
I've got an 11 y.o. Lurcher bitch and she is mad as a hatter! :o) She's got a great temperament, is great with kids and so loving it's un-believable!
Is she an exceptional Lurcher or are they all like that?

But anybody looking to get a lurcher needs to find out the cross first, being a lurcher is no guarantee of a good dog and for those of you who is not sure what a lurcher is, its a cross between a working dog and a hound or running dog and originally bred for hunting and still used mainly for catching rabbits and foxes in the uk but have been used for hunting just about every creature over the years.
Running dogs like: greyhound, whippet, Saluki
and crossed with
Working dogs like: Collie, Terrier, German Shepherd
and many other crosses, so there is no such thing as a purebred, or KC registered Lurcher
