on for an hour at night now..BBRRR
Bit of trivia: -40C is the same as -40F.
Chilly here this morning in West Yorkshire, so heating on.
Almost 30 degrees yesterday and warming up this morning. Clear skies, so drops a bit in the night, thin blanket required, (Pueblo Indian).
I work it out (c to f) C x2, -10%, + 32. I know that 28c = 82f, can't remember anything else.
I too hate central heating. OH and I are always arguing about when to put it on. I try to keep it off for as long as possible. When we do I turn it down when he's not looking, then he goes round turning all the radiators up again.
I put socks and a cardy on if it's a bit chilly.
I'm still opening all the windows when I get home from work now.
Have lit my stove a few times but not actually put the central heating on yet
Inglenook is my bin, contents hidden behind fireguard, that I light on chiily nights. Sometimes burning the chimney for extra boost - lol
Underfloor heating is great. I have it in the kitchen. I'd have it in the whole house if I could.
Have you ever noticed that we interchange C and F when we talk about extremes of weather.

When it is freezing we say it is 0 Degrees (C).
And when it is hot we say it is 90 Degrees (F).
I hadn't thought about that before Gromit, but yep you old folk tend to do that don't ya. ;-)
A few people I know have a 'not before' date for heating, including one of my kids who won't put the heating on before October. I have a Thermostat set at 20c all year, if the temperature drops below that in the house the heating comes on. Its been off now for a few months but did click in the other day for a couple of hours.
I impressed our pub quiz team by working out the equality of Fahrenheit and Celsius, -40, from an equation!
if i put the heating on now, which i won't as its too warm in here, i would be quite mad...
Will think about heating in November. Cooler days now just needs thicker jumpers.
and . . . when it's hot, Gromit - don't forget to add "in the shade" - especially when talking about your hols!

Well we are having the boiler serviced next week so the man will have to turn it on, I'm a cold soul so I might have to insist it be left on, at least for a couple of hours in the evening.
