I read on facebook he had died the other day then saw someone put it was a hoax, then today another post he has died and he really has, why do people put nasty hoax posts?? sad he has died

I don't understand it either. They must get some sort of a sick thrill watching people repost it.

No idea about the hoax chessington - very bad taste. Had to look him up as I only knew him as Bernie Scripps in the ITV series Heartbeat. Seems to have had a long career and been highly thought of. RIP Peter.

Rather than being a hoax, it's likely that the first announcement was correct and the person calling it a hoax was mistaken.

I read of his death several days ago.

Just googled Peter Benson to see what other things he'd been in (answer - loads of stuff), but was utterly astounded by some of the publicity photos that showed - he was quite a looker at one time

I saw the hoax on facebook about 2 days ago so probably was real all along and some sick person said its a hoax??

I believe there are two actors named Peter Benson, one who is a much younger Canadian actor I think. Maybe that's where the mix up was

the post hoax I saw had a Picture of Peter Benson from Heartbeat on so was same one that has sadly died, when I first googled him he was still alive then when I saw another post a few days later and googled, he was dead after The author Elaine Everset put a post on fb saying he died and silly me put, no its a hoax and she sad, NO he is dead so I looked it up and he was.
